No, not the .48 caliber, the 48th chainring. I like riding in the "Big Ring" but I find the standard road bike 53th to be very limiting unless you're a full-on racing stud. It allows you to use all the gears on your bike, and if you're using the standard 39th inner ring it's not that big of a jump from one ring to the other. Problem is most bikes come standard with the 53/39 setup, so if you are in the market for a new bike or just getting old like me and tired of trying to push that 53, or tired of all that "Chain Rub" from the front derailleur, give it a try.
